Europe, 2026:

Days after the Netherlands banned goods from Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, passengers arriving at Schiphol on an El Al flight from Tel Aviv say Dutch customs officers searched their luggage.

One passenger said everyone on her flight was pulled aside for screening.

Dutch Customs says the ban covers gifts, souvenirs and items for personal use. Travellers can be required to prove where their belongings were made or obtained. Items from the targeted communities can be confiscated, with cases referred to prosecutors.

In 2026, passengers arriving from the Jewish state are being forced to prove the origin of their belongings because they may have come from Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. The echoes of 1930s Europe are impossible to ignore.
