Two IDF reservists killed in Gaza drone explosion

Two IDF reservists were killed Thursday afternoon when an explosive drone crashed inside an IDF position in northern Gaza and later detonated.

They were identified as:
Sgt. Maj. (res.) Nadav Kali, 24, of Har Halutz
Sgt. Maj. (res.) Ofek Moalem, 23, of Jerusalem
Both served in the Jerusalem Brigade's 7007th Battalion.
According to the IDF's preliminary investigation, the soldiers were operating small explosive FPV drones known as “Atalef,” or “Bat.” One completed its mission, while another crashed back inside the position for reasons still under investigation.
Several minutes later, the drone exploded after the two soldiers approached it and picked it up. Both were critically wounded and evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, where they were pronounced dead.
The IDF has temporarily grounded all small drones capable of carrying explosive payloads while the incident is investigated.
May their memories be a blessing.
