Pentagon told CENTCOM to prepare for possible renewed Iran war — Axios:

The Pentagon instructed U.S. Central Command several days ago to prepare for the possible resumption of major combat operations against Iran, Axios reported, citing U.S. officials.

No strike date has been set, and President Donald Trump has not made a final decision. U.S. and Israeli officials said strikes could take place before the U.S. midterm elections and possibly before Israel's elections a week earlier.

The reported plans could include extensive strikes on Iranian energy, infrastructure and nuclear targets. If fighting resumes, the U.S. and Israel are expected to act together, with Israeli forces participating.

Trump's national security team discussed a possible resumption of the war at Camp David on Friday, an Israeli official said. Meanwhile, U.S.-Iran negotiations remain stalled as Qatar awaits Tehran's response to a U.S. counterproposal seeking nuclear concessions.

Israeli officials also warned that Iran could strike first out of fear of another surprise attack.
