New images clearly show DAMAGE to the tail of the FlyDubai jet, following its violent mid-air plunge and emergency landing in Saudi this morning.

The aircraft dropped more than 14,000 feet in around 30 seconds during the cockpit incident before eventually recovering and landing safely.

At those speeds, the aerodynamic forces on the aircraft rise dramatically, and the abrupt pull-out from such a steep descent can place heavy loads on the tail.

Miraculous that it landed safely...
