A Tale Of Two Receptions: Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband warmly welcomed the so called 'Palestinian ambassador' Husam Zomlot at Labour Friends of Palestine and the Middle East's conference reception, telling him he was "humbled".

Miliband praised those present for keeping "the flame of justice burning" over Gaza and the 'West Bank' "when we were not calling it out" - and vowed Labour would not retreat from its measures against Israel.

Yet no Cabinet minister is expected to speakat Labour Friends of Israel this year while Burnham himself has declined to address the reception.

Rachel Reeves delivered its main address in each of the previous two years, while Keir Starmer and nearly every senior Cabinet member attended following October 7.

Even Jeremy Corbyn addressed LFI before relations soured.

The contrast could hardly be clearer.
